What should not do when you travel to Thailand.

Thailand is a beautiful country with friendly people, exotic cuisine, and great shopping malls. However, it also has its share of cultural rules that may differ from what you’re used to doing back home. Here are some do’s and don’ts when visiting Thailand:

Do’s:

  1. Dress properly when visiting sacred places. Men should wear long pants and shirts with sleeves, and women should wear dresses with sleeves, pants, or skirts that cover their knees.

  2. Take your shoes off before entering a person’s home, a temple, and occasionally a store.

  3. Respect the monarchy.

  4. Learn some basic Thai phrases.

  5. Try the street food.

  6. Visit the temples.

  7. Use your right hand to eat and pass things.


Don’ts:

  1. Touch someone’s head.

  2. Point using your feet.

  3. Show disrespect to the monarchy.

  4. Use your left hand to eat or pass things.

  5. Show public displays of affection.

  6. Wear revealing clothing.

  7. Hug or kiss in public.

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list, but it should give you a good idea of some of the cultural norms in Thailand. By following these guidelines, you can show respect for the local customs and enjoy a more pleasant and rewarding travel experience.
