Thailand has extended its visa-free policy for Russian citizens, allowing them to stay in the country for 60 days instead of the previous 30. This move aims to boost tourism and strengthen ties between the two countries. A 60-day visa exemption for Russian visitors, to take effect from May 1 to July 31.
Earlier the government had approved a maximum visa-free stay of 90 days to attract Russian tourists during the high season. That program was to expire at the end of this month.
The new policy, effective immediately, applies to all Russian tourists arriving in Thailand. They can now enjoy an extended stay without needing to apply for a visa, making it easier and more convenient for them to explore the country's attractions.
Thailand's decision is expected to attract more Russian tourists, contributing to the country's economic recovery after the pandemic.
