The Thailand Winter Festival 2023 is a grand celebration of five iconic year-end events in Thailand. The festival will kick off with the “Delightful Colours Of The River, Loi Krathong Celebrations 2023” which will light up the waterways to mark the beginning of the festival. The festival also features the Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok.
Thailand is planning cultural and sporting events to attract tourists during the holiday season, and is considering relaxing visa rules to allow longer stays for some European nationalities.
The Thailand Winter Festival is made up of the Loi Krathong Festival, Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok, Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges, Vijit Chao Phraya, and Amazing Thailand Countdown. Organised by TAT in cooperation with the public and private sector partners, these events are scheduled between this November and December with dates for the Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges continue through to mid-February.
The grand celebration will kick off this month with the Delightful Colours of the River, Loi Krathong Celebrations 2023. From 24-28 November, the charming environs of Bangkok’s Padung Krung Kasem Canal will be lit up with bright and colourful displays of Loi Krathong celebrations distinctive to Chiang Mai, Roi Et, Samut Songkhram, Sukhothai, and Tak, while the exciting ambiance of the Chao Phraya River will be livened up with night-time illumination. Also taking place in the Thai capital is the Bangkok River Festival 2023 and ICONSIAM Chao Phraya River of Eternal Prosperity.
