@Kudichin, also spelled @Kudeejeen or @Kudi Jeen, is a historic neighborhood located on the western bank of the Chao Phraya River, not far from the Grand Palace and Wat Arun. It's renowned for its cultural heritage and is one of the oldest communities in Bangkok.
Originally settled by Portuguese traders and Catholic immigrants in the 17th century, Kudichin became a melting pot of various ethnic communities, including Thai, Portuguese, Chinese, and Malay, creating a unique blend of cultures and architectural styles.

Santa Cruz Church, a beautiful Catholic church built in the 1770s and reconstructed in 1916. It features Renaissance and neoclassical architecture.
Wat Kanlayanamit, a Buddhist temple
Kudi Khao Mosque, a historic mosque dating back to the 1780s. It's the world's only Thai-style mosque and is filled with art.
Kuan An Keng Shrine, an ancient Chinese shrine with well-preserved carvings and paintings.
Baan Kudichin Museum: A museum housed in a building that used to be the home of a Catholic family. The descendants of the original owner converted the home into a museum to preserve the heritage of the Kudichin community. The museum exhibits objects used in the past, the way of life and faith of the community, Portugal-Thailand relations, and the origin of Siamese-Portuguese, as well as old photographs of the community.
Portuguese-influenced cuisine: Kudichin is known for its delicious Thai-Portuguese fusion cuisine. You can find many restaurants serving dishes like caldo verde (a Portuguese kale soup), feu (a spicy sausage stew), and peixe com molho agridoce (fish with sweet and sour sauce).

ชุมชนกุฎีจีน หรือ “กะดีจีน” เป็นอีกหนึ่งชุมชนเด่นริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา มีประวัติความเป็นมายาวนานตั้งแต่สมัยพระเจ้ากรุงธนบุรีทรงก่อตั้งกรุงธนบุรี แม้จะเป็นเวลากว่า 200 ปีแล้วที่ชาวไทยเชื้อสายโปรตุเกสได้ตั้งรกรากกันมา แต่เรื่องราวความเป็นมาของชุมชนได้ถูกส่งต่อผ่านลูกหลานรุ่นแล้วรุ่นเล่า ด้วยเอกลักษณ์ที่โดดเด่นทั้งในแง่ของวิถีชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ระหว่างชาวพุทธ ชาวคริสต์ และชาวอิสลาม รวมไปถึงวัฒนธรรมที่หลากหลายของชาวไทย และพ่อค้าชาวจีนที่อยู่ในละแวกเดียวกัน
และด้วยความหลากหลายนี่เองที่ถือว่าเป็นเสน่ห์ของชุมชนกุฎีจีนที่ชวนให้ทุกคนมาสัมผัส
“โบสถ์ซางตาครูส (วัดกุฎีจีน)” ซึ่ง ซางตาครูส เป็นภาษาโปรตุเกส แปลว่า กางเขนศักดิ์สิทธิ์ โบสถ์ซางตาครูสเป็นโบสถ์คาธอลิกเก่าแก่ที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นในปี พ.ศ. 2313 โดยสมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราชได้พระราชทานที่ดินเพื่อสร้างวัดแห่งนี้แก่ชาวโปรตุเกส แต่เดิมเป็นไม้สักทั้งหลังแต่ถูกไฟไหม้จึงได้รับการบูรณะใหม่โดยมีโครงสร้างเป็นปูน สถาปัตยกรรมเด่นของเป็นแบบเรอเนสซองส์ผสมนีโอคลาสสิก ส่วนยอดโดมสีแดงนั้นมีความเด่นเป็นสง่า มีรูปร่างคล้ายคลึงกับโดมของมหาวิหารฟลอเรนซ์ ประเทศอิตาลี
บริเวณ "ชุมชนกุฎีจีน" จะมีตรอกซอกซอยมากมายให้ได้เดินสำรวจ พร้อมลวดลายภาพวาดกราฟฟิตี้บนผนังที่มีให้เห็นอยู่ตลอดทาง นอกจากนี้ระหว่างทางเราจะได้เห็นบ้านไม้เก่าสุดคลาสสิกอีกด้วย
